What it is
The Racing Formula horse racing predictor scores every runner in every UK & Irish race. Instead of reading through pages of form yourself, you get a single AI Score per horse — a fast, like-for-like read on how strongly the data rates each one in the context of today's race.
It's free, updated every morning, and built for British and Irish racing. There's no paywall, no ads and no affiliate links — the predictor is there to save you time reading a race, not to sell you bets.
How the predictor works
Every runner is scored the same way, so the numbers are comparable across the whole card:
- Reads the data — recent form, speed and class figures, going and distance suitability, trainer and jockey patterns, and pedigree.
- Maps the race — likely pace, run-style and draw are factored in, so a horse is judged against how this race is likely to be run.
- Scores every runner — a machine-learning model turns all of it into one AI Score per horse, alongside a plain-English read.
- Logs it before the off — picks are recorded in a hash-chained log so the results you see later are honest.
What it covers
Every meeting, every race, across the UK and Ireland — flat and jumps. The card is rebuilt each morning as fields, going and non-runners are confirmed, so the AI Score you see is based on the latest picture of the race.

Can AI predict horse racing?
Partly, and it helps to be precise about which part. An AI model can estimate each runner's chance from the evidence in its form — ratings, recent runs, class, the going and trip it handles, its trainer and jockey — and rank the field by it. Ours does that for every UK & Irish runner, every morning.
What no model can do is tell you who will win. Horse racing is uncertain: races turn on things no dataset holds, such as a slow start, a troubled passage in running or a horse that doesn't take to the ground on the day, and the highest-rated runner in a race is beaten more often than not.
Our own testing says the same. Runners with higher AI Scores do win more often than runners with lower ones, but the model broadly tracks the betting market rather than beating it, so a high score is not a reason to bet on its own.
That's why we publish the record rather than a claim. The flagship Top pick and the AI Score are tracked every day at £10 level stakes on the performance page — profit and loss as it happened, losing runs included — and picks are logged in a hash-chained record before the off, so any change made afterwards would show.
What it can — and can't — do
We'd rather be straight with you than oversell it. The AI is genuinely useful for reading a race quickly and spotting things you might miss — but it is not a guaranteed-winner machine.

How is the AI Score calculated?
By default it comes from our flagship machine-learning model, retrained every morning in separate versions for flat turf, all-weather and jumps. It weighs well over a hundred inputs per runner: ratings, recent form, class, course, distance and going records, speed figures from past races, trainer and jockey form and, on the flat, the draw, early pace and pedigree. The runner's own price is not an input to the model. After the model has scored the field, the morning price is used to rein in long-priced runners, and live price moves are never used. Until its scores land later each morning, the card shows our transparent Baseline score instead. Every runner gets a single AI Score so you can compare the field at a glance.
Is this a tipping service?
